The Office for Children as a state agency is required by Exec Order 227 (1983) to appoint an affirmative action officer and to establish an affirmative action program to ensure equal opportunity in all areas of employment. Program is subject to review and oversight of the Executive Office for Human Services (EOHS) affirmative action officer and the State Office of Affirmative Action (SOAA). Series is created by the office's affirmative action unit to administer and document instructions from those agencies and submission to them of information relating to progress of the office's affirmative action program.
